Tinos is the fourth largest Cycladic island. Although it is well known for the famous church of Panagia of Tinos, it also features beaches of outstanding beauty. The beaches of Tinos are unique, with incredible waters, and it is hard to say which one is the most amazing. Some beaches that are worth visiting will be presented below.

 

Isternia Bay About 17 km northwest of Chora, the small fishing port of Isternia has a clear pebble beach and taverns to eat. The view is beautiful, overlooking the island of Syros.

 

Agia Thalassa The narrow dirt road from Panormos leads to one of the most idyllic coastal areas of Exo Meria. The beach of Agia Thalassa is secluded and quiet, ideal for a quick swim near Panormos. It is popular with both the locals and visitors who seek to live a unique experience.

 

Agios Romanos Agios Romanos is located in the southwestern part of the island, 12 km away from Chora. It is a beach that combines thick sand and pebbles, while the tamarisk trees there offer natural shade. This is an organized beach which attracts many locals and tourists during summertime.

 

Malli Malli is a remote cove in Exo Meri. It is located in the northwestern part of Tinos, about 25 km away from Chora. After passing the quarries in Marlas, the dirt road leads to the tiny Malli, with the jade-green, marble-like waters. The beach offers an unobstructed view of the island of Andros just across the horizon.

 

Rochari Rochari is a point of reference for Tinos. It is near Panormos, 28 km away from Chora. Rochari is an organized, cosmopolitan beach, busy with visitors, located in the port of the settlement of Platia. The tamarisk trees on the beach add a rather exotic element.

 

Agios Sostis This is the most famous beach of the island, chosen by many visitors every year. It is 5.5 km away from Chora. Agios Sostis is famous for the turquoise, clear waters. It is ideal for families, thanks to the shallow waters, and it is organized.

 

Livada This is a beach of great wild beauty. It is rather remote, about 19 km away from Chora. In this location, the waves have been shaping a wild and unique landscape. Access to Livada is difficult, as it requires going through a dirt road before being able to enjoy the view. Yet, the magical setting is worth the effort.

 

Pachia Ammos This is one of the quietest beaches on the island, just 8.5 km away from Chora. Pachia Ammos, which means “thick sand”, has been named after the dunes of sand that have been shaped along the shore. Since this beach is not too busy, it is ideal for those seeking tranquility.

 

Kolimbithra This beach is 15 km away from Chora. It actually comprises two beaches: Mikri Ammos and Megali Ammos. If you are a water-sport lover, this is the ideal spot for you.

 

Apigania This is a beautiful bay, with the natural rock formations creating a majestic setting. Apigania is 11 km away from Chora. It is not easily accessible, as it requires going through a dirt road and then hiking on a rough path.

 

ApothikesThe beach of Apothikes is 16 km away from Chora. It has great wild beauty, due to being exposed to strong winds. It is not organized and does not get too crowded, thanks to the remote location.

 

Lychnaftia This is a typical example of Cycladic beauty. Lychnaftia is 12 km away from Chora. It combines a lot of sand and pebbles. It is not organized. Finally, the island of Mykonos can be viewed across the horizon from the beach.
